Good morning all
Today i am showing you a card that i had forgotten to post the other day !
Have you ever taken a balloon trip ? We took one 2 years ago in Mallorca for our 10th wedding anniversary and it was fabby - so when i saw this digi i knew i had to have it.
It is again using a scrapbook stamp society digi called 80 days with Nellie by Sherri Baldy and it can be found HERE.
I have created a scalloped 6x6 easel card - the only proper photo i could get of the easel open is the last picture.
This was such fun to make as the backing card i used is hand made and im LOVING this technique.
I used an a4 sheet of card, a paper plate, shaving foam and spray inks ! Intrigued .... then read on.
The digi was printed onto neenah and coloured with my copic markers - yep ive reverted back !
The digi was cut out close to the black edge.
Alternative balloon sections were glittered and the others glazed with glossy accents to make them stand out and shine.
I am really describing this card all backwards as im going to tell you how to make the backing card at the end ! so from here on i am telling you how i assembled it all.
The backing card was edged in pinflair flexi bend peel offs that were coloured pink with my copics.
A doillie was placed in the middle of the card front and then a ring of coloured buttons to co-ordinate with my colour scheme.
The digi was then added with pinflair glue gel on top of that. I crinked the edges so it looked like it was curly to represent waving in the wind. Not easy to see unless you saw the card in real life.
I then punched out butterflies in lilac glitter card and placed them around the card. 2 different colours of pearls were added for their bodies.
Now then here is where i tell you about the backing card and the shaving foam ! This is a new technique to me but ill be using it a lot more now.
I squirted shaving foam onto a paper plate - not a lot just enough as if you were making a cream pie to throw at someone !!! LOL
then i sprayed shimmer mists and mixed it up slowly watching the colour dragging through the foam. The more ink the more intense the colour. You can also use this with alcohol inks if you dont have sprays.
Once its mixed and i like the swirly pattern then i placed my card stock on top and pushed into the foam.
WARNING - you get messy!!
When the card is lifted off you scrape gently off the foam and hey presto the foamy marbling is revealed.
Its amazing technique and i love it. When i was at a workshop in Aberdeen a few weeks ago, Amy Shaw QVCs craft expert taught us this technique. fantastic.
So as you can see from the above pic the full effect of the swirly technique.
I again added pink coloured peel offs around the edges and 3 buttons in the corner.
As the easel stopper i added a big pink bow.
This is the easel card sitting up but im afraid it was not a great day when i took the photo - hence the rain on the window - so it came out rather dark but you get the gist of it from the other pics i hope.
I hope you like what i have created today as id love to know what you think. Thank you for stopping by today.
