GIRLIE WEEKEND IN GLASGOW

Hello everyone

Today im going to tell you about my girlie weekend away in Glasgow with Lisa.  We were heading to Glasgow for the Hobbycrafts fayre at the SECC

We left at 630 am and got to the SECC just at 10. We grabbed some breakfast then made our way into the exhibition centre to "go shopping"

Firstly we stopped off at Pinflair to say Hi to Antony and Paul and drop off a gift of tablet for them.

A MASSDIVE Thank you to both of them for our "wee deal" that we have going - cant tell you all about it otherwise you'll all want in on it !!  You guys ROCK !

We then wandered around the main hall and picked up lots of bargains and MUST HAVEs, NEEDs and WANTs of purchases - spending far too much money !!

Thanks to Ross at the Crafters Companion stall - as he also got me a good deal - he has great sales patter!!

This is me with Ross and his mum - mega spooky eyed photo ! well it was halloween afterall !

After lunch we went to the other hall which was more of the gifts for christmas and i managed to get a few bits and bobs to put away for presents - yes i actually bought other stuff that wasnt craft !!

After our long long day with sore feet and an empty purse we made our way to the Crowne Plaza which is the hotel joined onto the SECC.  We were in a large suite on the 15th floor with access to the club lounge  which gave us free drinks and nibbles then free breakfast in the morning.

Here are a few pics - the bed had 3 pillows and 4 lots of fluffy cushions - this was heaven for me compared to most trave lodges that give you one flattened pillow each !!

here is lisa posing

Check out our MEGA bathroom

On saturday night we ate at the bar and had a few drinky poos !  Here is Lisa with a Cosmo

and me with a Pina Colada - of course it had to be didnt it !!  It was  all Malibu and coke after that

On Sunday after breakfast  here is Lisa putting on her makeup ready to face the day - she didnt know i took this one !!! hee hee

we headed back into the exhibition hall and met up with Susan from Aberdeen, we shopped some more - all being a bad influence on each other !!

We left Glasgow at around 2 and headed off down the road to Perth where we stopped off at Dobies for our late lunch/early dinner and bought yet more xmas presents !!

On the road home we had a good old sing song and it made the dark journey pass a lot quicker - dont think we will be auditioning for x factor but you never know !!

It was a great weekend all round with lots of bargains to be had, sore feet and a very empty wallet.

Yep this is me !  I am a partylite consultant in my spare time - yea i know spare time thats a joke right !
When i do my partylite parties at home or at my mums i make them a girlie night out where its a themed night for dress up, the house gets all decked up too. I also hold a cardmaking competition for any of the attendees who make cards. The last halloween one i had was in 2008 so here is me dressed as a vampire - my red eyes and lips matched my red HUGE wings but you cant see them in the pic unfortunately. I even managed to get blood stains (well lipstick actually) on my fangs !!

Thank you for hopping and i would appreciate your comments as like to read what you think.

As im the 13th on the hop there is no more to view for today and my posting for today draws this hop to a close. This has been an amazing hop with lots of talented crafters taking part and showcasing amazing projects. NEW STAMP RANGE FROM SHEENA DOUGLASS - ITS LAUNCH DAY !!

Hello everyone

All week Sheena, myself and the other DT members have been showcasing sneeky peeks of Sheenas new lake district inspired Sketchy stamp range - if youve missed my postings then please go backward to Monday and start from there.

Today is the launch of the new range on Create and Craft tv 9am, 11am and 3pm so i am able to show you the rest of the cards that i have created using them - hope you like them

This first one is using the boats, hills and people on the pier stamps. I have stamped the boats and hills onto card stock and again onto scrap paper to cut out and apply as a mask. Once attached i then used 2 cosmic shimmer sprays in green and blue and covered the whole card area. I took my heat gun to help speed up the drying process as im not very patient to let that dry naturally!!!  Once dry i removed the masks. I then applied stickles to the water area around the boats and the shoreline to make it sparkle - this you can see quite clearly on the second photo.  Next i stamped the people on the pier and used a circle punch to cut them out. I wanted to showcase how all the stamps work together hence using 3 different ones on this one card. I matted the main image onto black card stock and likewise with the punched out couple. The main image was then attached to the card blank. I tied a black ribbon all around my blue card base and then attached the stamped couple onto the main stamped area using 3d foam to make it stand proud of the image - a bow was then created onto the ribbon to make it look like it was sitting on top of the punched out couple.   Lastly i added 3 little black gems to the main stamped image .

For this next card i have used 5 stamps from the range and using the masking technique again. Firstly i covered my card area in distress green and brown inks then stamped and masked out my images. Once all dry i matted and layered it onto black then white  then background papers. I covered my card blank in papers and  placed others at jaunty angles. All papers and main card blank i have edged with pinflair flexi bend peel offs as i like to see my cards egded like this. I applied the main creation to the card base then wrapped around some greeny fibres several times and tied them off in random knots to create a bunched up knotted effect. I added some green coloured craft work cards card candy dots and 2 wild orchid crafts filigree corners to finish it off.

For this card i used  2 blues and brown and green distress inks to cover my card blank. Once dry i stamped the trees with shoreline onto the bottom using memento. I then stamped the moon  on the card and again onto white card stock. The second stamping i cut out the moon only and attached it with pinflair glue over the originally stamped one and once dry i coloured the clouds in grey spectrum noir pens and lastly applied glossy accent glaze to make the moon shine.
The whole image was then mattend and layered onto black and blue card stock before attaching it to my card blank which i had already covered in backing paper. As a finishing touch i added some flowers, pearl stems and some bling.

Well there we have it for today - thats the last of my cards for this new range - hope you have liked what i created. As mentioned previously if you have missed the weeks sneek peeks at my other creations then please go back to Monday and move forward from there.

Thanks for looking and id appreciate a comment or two to let me know what you think of my creations and of the new stamp range - hope you can catch the shows too - shame im at the SECC in glasgow at the hobbycrafts fayre spending some money but ill catch up with the shows on my return - good luck Sheena with the launch - im there in spirit !!

NEW STAMP RANGE FROM SHEENA DOUGLASS - SNEEKY PEEK DAY FIVE

13 DAYS OF HALLOWEEN blog hop HERE

..............................................

Hello everyone

Today i am showing my fifth day sneeky peek of Sheena Douglass's new Lake District inspired sketchy stamp range.

For this card i have taken a sheet of small sticky lables - these are the lables i usually type my Handmade by ditty on for the back of my cards - they come in a sheet of 100 or so per A4 page. I have cut enough to fit my 6x6 card blank and covered them with 2 cosmic shimmer spray misters - gosh what a mess i got into as there was more on my craft desk than on the lables !!!
Next i stamped the floral images in versafine 3 times onto the shimmered labels - each stamped impression got paler as i did not reink. Once all dry i then peeled off each label and attached to the black card stock in a mosaic kind of fashion. The labels on the actual sheet were all close together but by placing them this way you could see the black card stock behind and i thought it made it look really effective like the way you see mosaics done with the grouting in between.
Once all labels were attached I then cut a piece of black card stock to fit just inside the corner edges of the white scalloped matt and fixed my mosaic creation to  it.  I wrapped ribbon around and tied a wee bow. This was all then attached to the scallop matt before sticking it all to my red card blank.  To finish it off i applied some small red bling to all 4 corners.

Well thats the 5 days of sneeky peeks all shown - hope you like what ive shown you and have also checked out Sheenas blog and the other DT members.

Tomorrow (saturday) i will be at the SECC in Glasgow for sat/sun so i will miss Sheena launching the new range on C&C on Sunday 9am, 11am and 3pm so i will have to make sure it gets recorded.  I have pre scheduled a posting for sunday to show off the rest of the cards that i have created for this launch so i hope you can pop back to see them before settling down to watch Sheena at play (sorry at work )!!

NEW STAMP RANGE FROM SHEENA DOUGLASS - SNEEKY PEEK DAY FOUR

13 DAYS OF HALLOWEEN - blog hop for Day Nine -   HERE

...............................................................................

Hello everyone

Today i am showing my fourth day sneeky peek of Sheena Douglass's new Lake District inspired sketchy stamp range.

For this card i have used a Big n Juicy foliage ink pad and pressed the ink onto the lid of the pad then spritzed it with water. I used my dabbers and applied the wet inks all over the card base. Once dry i stamped the tree and the moon (from 2 different stamp sets) with memento onto the orangey area. Once dry i then sprayed it all with crafters companion gold sparkle spray.  This was then mounted onto black then gold card stock and it all mounted onto my black card base.
I  used a scallop punch to cut out a small inked area and stamped the sentiment onto it in memento. Punched out a larger circle of black and sprayed it with the same gold glitter spray and when dry attached the 2 together with foam pads for a raised effect. I then tied a small gold knott and attached it with pinflair.
A very simple, easy yet effective silhouette card - hope you like it

Please come back for day five sneeky peek on friday

NEW STAMP RANGE FROM SHEENA DOUGLASS - SNEEKY PEEK DAY THREE

13 DAYS OF HALLOWEEN - DAY 8 HOP - HERE

......................................................

Hello everyone

Today i am showing my third day sneeky peek of Sheena Douglass's new Lake District inspired sketchy stamp range.

For this card i have stamped the boats and hills onto card stock. Then stamped again on scrappy paper and attached with template tape over the images (to act as a mask). You can however stamp onto a post it note or use the masking fluid but the fluid takes too long to dry for my liking!!
Once masked off i used distress inks and a screwed up poly pocket. I applied the ink to the poly pocket and dabbed it all over to cover the sea and sky of the images. One colour on the sky and 2 for the sea to make them different. I then coloured the stamped images with spectrum noir markers and glazed the front 3 boats with glossy accents - leaving the one in the back unglazed. You can see the glaze more on the second photo.

For the background i took a piece of thick glossy photo card and 3 marbling inks. I poured water into a plastic container and applied drips of the 3 inks, mixed it around then gently placed on the card till it soaked up the inks. This is like a technique you learn at school but it gives an amazing effect and each time you do it is different.  When the marbled card was dry i attached it to a piece of rainbow mirror board (you can tell theres  repitition going on here as this is my third card using rainbow mirror board - but i LOVE it !). I wrapped around a piece of ribbon and tied a bow then mounted it all on to my base card

I hope you like what i have created and will pop back on Thursday for day four sneeky peek

13 DAYS OF HALLOWEEN BLOG POST (day 7) - CLICK HERE

....................................................................

Hello everyone

Today i am showing my second day sneeky peek of Sheena Douglass's new Lake District inspired sketchy stamp range.

For this card  I have stamped the floral image in versamark then covered it with WOW violet pearl powders - this powder has an amazing effect on different coloured card stock - its all about playing to see what effects you like. Ive done it on the purple pearescent card but the shimmer is hard to pick up on the photo but hopefully if you see this one on the TV you will be able to see how it shimmers.  I then matted & layered the image onto pale lilac, purple and rainbow mirror card. This was then attached to the card black which was  covered  with paper from a Kanban range. I have added pinflair flexi bend peel offs around the card edges, some pearl bling to the body of the butterfly and a ribbon with pins to finish it off

I hope you like what i have come up with for todays sneek peek - please come back again on  Tuesday for another one.

NEW STAMP RANGE FROM SHEENA DOUGLASS - SNEEKY PEEK DAY ONE

Hello all

I have been locked away in my craft room for a few days to create with the new range of stamps from the Queen of Inkyness. Its a fabby new range of stamps inspired by the Lake District when Sheena was there recently for a nice relaxing break. I have never been but can imagine a lovely tranquil place - if the stamps are anything to go by !!

Sheena will be on Create and Craft on Saturday 30th launching the full new range but this week we are all showcasing a wee sneeky peek of what we have come up with.  Please do check out Sheenas blog HERE and from there you can see the rest of the DTs blogs also.

Here is my sneeky peek for today

I have used a shaped card blank and covered it with paper from one of the Kanban recent paper packs. The stamp was stamped in memento and then coloured with spectrum noir makers.  I then took a piece of glossy photo card & 2 distress inks and smudged the inks on my craft mat then squidged the card all over it to create the coloured background.  The coloured stamped image i then cut close around the edges and cut it into 3 equal parts. Each part was then matted & layered  onto rainbow mirror board and dark brown/black card stock and attached to the card base. I have then added several turquoise pearl beads to various parts of the backing paper and added a brown bow.

I hope you like what i have created and it whetts your appetite to see more !!
I hope you will come back tomorrow to see another sneeky peek - im going to go now and pre schedule my weeks blog sneeky peek posts just in case i forget - if you dont do it when its fresh in your mind .... need i say more !!

FALL / HALLOWEEN BLOG HOP 22 23 OCTOBER

Hello everyone and welcome to  day two of the Fall / Halloween blog hop hosted by Nicolette.
If you have arrived here from  Kathryn's blog then you are on the right track to continue hopping but if you are just browsing around blogger land and wish to hop along, thank you, and you need to start back at the begnining - click HERE.

The theme is for projects on Fall / Halloween - i love halloween and everything about dressing up and being silly but i decided to go with projects on both themes just for variety.

So here goes - yesterday i showcased my fall projects so today its over to my  Halloween projects.

Some witchy Halloween cards that i created from Molly Harrison images. Like yesterdays Fall images  I love how they turned out as they are so so simple with basic toppers, glittered and glitzed and then matted and layered onto a card base with a few bits of bling added for effect

My next card is made using penny black halloween stamps. I have used a cobweb embossing folder to cover the black card then a versamark clear pen to go over the webs and cover them with WOW clear sparkle embossing powder. The images were stamped and embossed with WOW ebony powder then coloured with spectrum noir pens and glittered and glazed. Matted and layered using my spellbinders.
Have added some flexi bend border peel offs and blingy stars. For the sentiment panel i cut the card stock, matting and layering the 2. Then taking a wooden frog i covered it with green ink and embossed it with the WOW clear sparkle powder. 2 little orange buttons finish it off.

Ok thats my Halloween projects - hope you like them . I would  appreciate a few comments to let me know what you think.

The next hop stop is  Jackie so click HERE

Many thanks for hopping today and hope to see you again real soon. This is a 2 day hop so if you didnt get time to hop yesterday then there is always today where you can catch up with all the projects on this hop.
