Hello everyone, and welcome to day 3 of the The Home Decor 3 day BLOG HOP
If you have arrived here from Jen R's blog then you are on the right track. If you are here just browsing around (thank you), but would like to “hop” along with us then please start back at Faiths blog for the day one project.

The theme for this hop is Home Decor so our projects had to be creations for such.
Here is the last of my three day projects – the first one is a painted mannequin bust.
I measured out a dowling rod to fit the right size of the bust and to leave enough for a stand and cut to size. I then asked my hubby to cut me a cross shape for the bottom as i cant use a saw properly!!
When he cut it for me i had to make sure the dowling rod would fit the hole in the bottom and then glued it into a cross shape to act as a base for the whole thing to stand on. The visible stand base from cross bottom going up to the bottom of the bust is 12" in height but overall it is 25" but as most of it disappears up inside the bust for stability.
Once in place and dry i painted it all black.
The bust was then covered in wild orchid flowers and leaves for decoration. I just adore this flower range and have so many of them in my collection.
I used the ends of the leaves and curled them around a paint brush to create the swirly flourish tendrell embellishments in with the flowers.
Lastly i added 2 buttons and a small piece of ribbon and bling pink gem as a neck piece to finish it off.
The finished item can be used as an ornament to add decoration to your dressing table in your bedroom or any room depending on the colour scheme used.
My next project is fairy related and for those of you that know me will know that this is no surprise for a fairy thing or 2 to crop up in something that im doing !
This one is a fairy door.

A very simple project as i bought a fairy door blank from ebay (3" tall) and i painted it two colours of brown then gave the wood a grainy effect. Next i added some liquid lead liner for the small window and then made a little hole in it to place in its door handle. To decorate i added a ladybug, butterfly and little gold stars.
A fairy door can be put against your skirting boards in your home so that fairies can move freely from room to room in your home without being detected ! Ihave these in my house and in my garden.

Now for my last project. I bet you are wondering what on earth this ball with feathers is ???
Well its a fairy nest.
A fairy nest is a little home for the fairies that live in your home. It can be hung somewhere so the light will shine on the glitter as fairies are attracted to the glitter, feathers and beads and you will soon find that one will be living in your nest. I have several of these hanging up in my house and sold heaps at fayres as they are so novel.
This is how i made it.
Its a rafia ball that i had in a bag of pot pourri and ribbons, feathers, beads and 2 little chipboard creatures.
I sprayed the ball in silver glitter spray then attached ribbons to the top for hanging it up and tied it off in a bow.
I then attached lots of ribbons to the bottom and threaded on assorted beads.
The feathers are then poked up inside the beads and a little glue added to hold them in place.
I then added the little chipboard butterfly, glittered, to the ball and a glittered dragonfly to the feathers.
There you have it -thats all my projects for this Home Decor 3 day hop.

Hi Gill. I am wondering if your real name is Gillian? I have twins that are Gretchen and Gillian but we don't do nicknames.
Your projects are wonderful. I love the fairy nest and door especially. What a cute and clever idea.

Gill, how fun.
First--the bust is unique--in a good way. How cool an idea.
Next--the fairy items. Have a friend looking to make a fair house--I will show her your door! And this is the first I have heard of a fairy nest. I guess they do need a place to rest that feels safe if they are in your house! Very pretty!
What fun projects! Love the dress form project and the fairy nest! Your creativity is so inspiring!
